This accessibility statement applies to www.bradwellparishcouncil.gov.uk. This website is run by Bradwell Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • easily read the content that is available
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom into a page without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Enforcement Procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Technical Information About This Website’s Accessibility

We are committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to ‘the non-compliances and exemptions’ listed below.

Non-Compliance With The Accessibility Regulations

There’s no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option). This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 (bypass blocks).

Disproportionate Burden

There’s no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option).

It’s not always possible to change the device orientation from horizontal to vertical without making it more difficult to view the content, specifically when zoomed in to a page.

It’s not possible for users to change line height and character spacing separately from zoom level.

We’ve assessed the cost of fixing these issues and we believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when updates to our web platform become available.

Content That’s Not Within The Scope Of The Accessibility Regulations

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Files provided to us by third parties are also not within scope. If you require accessible versions of these documents please contact the original publisher.
